Mail Messages in Folder disappeared
Yesterday, all of a sudden, one (and only one) folder in my OE6 mail folders, all the messages disappeared. I have been looking for a whole day now and I cannot find them in the deleted files or in the recycle bin. There were several hundred messages in that folder before the messages disappeared.
I have two questions: 1. How can such a thing happen, when I did not specifically delete them? 2. How can I retrieve them in some readable form? 3. With the extensive use of OE, why is it so difficult to transfer these message folders, specifically the .dbx files, and.. 4. Why hasn't there been software developed that can view these .dbx files directly, without having to go around your elbow to get to your noce. Thanks for 'listening'. polaris6 |

Apologies if you've already tried this.
In OE select the folder that should contain the missing messages. Then go to View > Current View. Click on "Show all messages." |

Messages disappear
I don't know. It could have run during a period when I was not at the 'helm' driving, like overnight. If you are asking, did I initiate mailbox cleanup, the answer is no.....and, this happened to only one mailbox folder. None of the others were altered. |

This may explain it, although it's geared towards all mail files disappearing. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/918069
Or maybe try some of the things listed here. |
