msn works but no internet
hiya guys
just bin looking at kids pc as their net wont work and ive managed to get msn to load up and they can talk to their mates but ie and firefox cant connect to the net.. ive tried disabling the firewall and restting all ie and firefox settings to default but still with no look... msn is great so there is a connection to the outside world, just something blocking both browsers, any help guys as im outa ideas. andy |

Try uninstalling Firefox from Control Panel. Then run a registry cleaner to remove lingering settings from registry.
Next download the latest version of Firefox from another computer, copy it to a thumb drive and install it on the kids computer. If that doesn't work, we can move to more difficult solutions.

Does your ISP require you to use a Proxy Server?
MSN may be configured for auto-detect or even UPnP... Check if your IE / FFox requires a manual entry of proxy connection details... i.e. proxy.isp.net and port 8080. good luck.
